Six Sentence Sunday

I hope everyone is having an awesome Sunday.  I will bring more of Tairyn next week, but until then the following excerpt is from Erasing Teresa, a completed WIP.  Enjoy.

Leaves swirled around me as if I were in the middle of a cyclone.  A slow burn began in the depths of my belly, radiated outwards, and crept down the length of my arms.  The ground below me shot out bright bursts of blinding light.  Behind Barrett hung a large looking glass framed in gold, which reflected an image of a hideous hunter laced with numerous scars.  Red tally marks appeared and disappeared one by one, a chilling indicator of all the immortal lives he had claimed.  A silver sword unseen by the regular eye was slung across his back and the lies he had told me over the years dripped off him.

A peek inside my super secret journal.

When Susie Bright tweeted that she needed reviewers for her Sex Journal: Love and Lust, I jumped at the chance.  I mean, who wouldn't.  Susie Bright is one of the most influential people in my life.  Several years ago, her erotica works and sex positive attitude prompted me to take the leap of faith into a world I felt very passionate about.  No longer did I feel alone in my sexual thoughts and fantasies.

Although I posted a review on Amazon, I wanted to say more.  A helluva lot more because the word limit did not do my thoughts justice.  However, according to Amazon's rules (which is fine) the word count was limited.

Imagine my frustration.

The Sex Journal: Love and Lust title alone is what piqued my curiousity.  Susie Bright's previous works have yet to disappoint, and she has continued to impress me with her recent creation.  This journal offers quotes that stir awake the sexual memories and allow for you to reflect back upon your most cherished moments. In addition, it allows for the imagination to be richly fertilized with prompts and quotes from famous sex positive people.

When I first received the journal, I felt like a teenager again.  My earlier diaries held all of my secrets, and I always felt safe knowing a lock guarded my written thoughts away from prying eyes.  When I saw that the journal had a lock and key, I laughed a little because I remembered one of my secrets I wrote in one of my old diaries- I love Jason Smith.  Yes, I know he didn't love me back, but hey ... I was in sixth grade at the time.  However, now that I am older, the secrets I have are no different.  Well, a little. I don't love Jason Smith anymore, and I have no idea where he is now. (I hope he doesn't stumble upon this blog.)

What seperated the Sex Journal: Love and Lust from my other journals were the prompts.  Susie included passages throughout the journal to help the journalist step back into their sexual memories, whether they were sweet or not, and revist those times.  Some prompts, I blushed because they forced me to take an honest look at my sexual experiences.  There were a few that I wanted dead and buried and others, I wanted to re-live again, and again, and again...  Also, there were some that I never tried before - and you can bet your bottom dollar that I'm going to try something freaky <--I know that your freak may not be my freak, but my freak is my freak.

Here is an entry I did about corsets (yes, I know I am a corset whore, but hey...)

I plan on filling this journal with countless entries and some of the prompts have got me thinking ... I need to try that...  And at the risk of repeating myself, I must say:

The Sex Journal is for the person from all lifestyles that want to add a squeeze of sexual excitement to their lives. This journal is for the teenager who wants to explore new shades of their sexuality. For the single person who wants to stretch their boundaries and taste a new life. For parents who find themselves in a sexual routine and want to learn more about their partner (after all, it is secrets that make you more mysterious). And, it is for those who have already done every sexual activity to reminisce a life they once had.

Six Sentence Sunday

This is an excerpt from my work in progress - S. Delight (Book 2 of the Shadow Seducer's Series).  Please enjoy.

Tairyn reached for the rusted torch anchored to the granite wall of the mausoleum. Upon her touch, a single flame roared to life, and she turned it counter clockwise.   A low creak echoed as the concrete barrier gave way.  Decades of musk and stale air rushed out of the darkened abyss.  She quickly brought her hand up to shield her eyes as the dust forced several coughs that shook her lungs, and then she cast a quick glance over her shoulder to make sure no one saw her.  Instinctively, she dismantled the torch, held it out in front of her, and walked into the unknown chamber.
