Six Sentence Sunday

I am so excited because I have made so much progress with Book 2 of Wicked Kisses!  You don't know how busy my schedule has been, but my characters will not leave me alone.  So, I present you a piece of my WIP from S. Delight!

Small tendrils of the fire flirted with the edges of her innocent flesh, but hid away into the shroud of her body.   Basilio wanted to draw out the firesprite within her, but she kept herself under control.  He leaned in to kiss her, but she turned her face way.  The hope in him dimmed a bit, but he placed his hand behind her head, grabbed a fistful of hair and held her in place.  A second attempt and he planted his lips against her succulent lips.  The sweet taste of her mouth lined his palate and awakened the very core of his loins.

Six Sentence Sunday

This is an excerpt from my WIP, Yours to Keep.

We all carry around luggage.  Mine is pretty, decorated with flowers but, the stuff inside is dark. This is why there is three locks on it. However I've learned that sometimes the best locks in the world do a poor job.  The past always creeps out. And once it's out, the damage proves to be catastrophic.

Six Sentence Sunday

I hope everyone is having an awesome Sunday.  I will bring more of Tairyn next week, but until then the following excerpt is from Erasing Teresa, a completed WIP.  Enjoy.

Leaves swirled around me as if I were in the middle of a cyclone.  A slow burn began in the depths of my belly, radiated outwards, and crept down the length of my arms.  The ground below me shot out bright bursts of blinding light.  Behind Barrett hung a large looking glass framed in gold, which reflected an image of a hideous hunter laced with numerous scars.  Red tally marks appeared and disappeared one by one, a chilling indicator of all the immortal lives he had claimed.  A silver sword unseen by the regular eye was slung across his back and the lies he had told me over the years dripped off him.

Six Sentence Sunday

This is an excerpt from my work in progress - S. Delight (Book 2 of the Shadow Seducer's Series).  Please enjoy.

Tairyn reached for the rusted torch anchored to the granite wall of the mausoleum. Upon her touch, a single flame roared to life, and she turned it counter clockwise.   A low creak echoed as the concrete barrier gave way.  Decades of musk and stale air rushed out of the darkened abyss.  She quickly brought her hand up to shield her eyes as the dust forced several coughs that shook her lungs, and then she cast a quick glance over her shoulder to make sure no one saw her.  Instinctively, she dismantled the torch, held it out in front of her, and walked into the unknown chamber.

Six Sentence Sunday

Gardenia perfume lined the surface of her skin.  My lips touched the edge of her plush pink lips.  She tried to writhe free, but my strength overpowered her small frame.  I pulled her closer. My blood ran hot, overpowering my rational mind as I pressed my groin against her silky flesh. I murmured, “Do you know what you do to me?”

Six Sentence Sunday

More of what is to come:

She nodded, casting a glance around the room, then right back at Sebastian.  Chloe bit down on her lip and nodded.  How he wished he could trace the edges of his finger against the surface of her mouth only to quickly replace them with his lips.  He longed to taste her again.  The hardness grew quickly between his legs, a refreshing feeling he welcomed, but had to control the incubus within him.  He knew all too well what happened when the demon grew out of control.

Six Sentence Sunday

A piece from my novel being considered:
Dr. de Cole set down his leather bag and came further into the room.  Chloe studied his features, trying to match up every detail about him.  Dr. de Cole’s dark grey eyes turned a shade lighter, and a sudden twinge of sexual energy rushed between them.  The colour of his pale skin faded into a pinkish hue; a stark contrast from the crisp black slacks and dark green button up shirt.  Chloe pulled herself together and chided herself for forgetting her manners.  “It’s nice to meet you...”

Six Sentence Sunday 10/31/2010

This piece is an excerpt from the short story BLADE AND BURN.  I wrote this piece a few years ago for the Blood Lust anthology.

He did not budge and he stayed put until I gave him an answer. His dark tongue played with his sharp eyetooth and soon, right before my very eyes he pierced the fleshy muscle. The richest, most colorful crimson droplets spilled from the self-inflicted wound and for extra effect, he slid the blood lined tip of his tongue across his black lips. The exquisite shimmer of the liquid that sustained his life softened me up towards him. A sense of exhilaration flowed through me because Riggan hinted to me that he understood the burning hunger in me to walk in the shadow of death.

Yes, I wanted to walk that very path along side him.

Six Sentence Sunday

This is a piece that is currently being considered by a publisher.  It's from my paranormal series.  I am very excited about it.
“Which of me do I choose?”  Chloe pressed her soft hand against the cool window.  The condensation outlined her hand; small bursts of coloured liquid framed the window.  She caught a glimpse of her reflection and gasped.  Swirls of energy danced together in the large space between them, just like she had seen before in her dreams.

Six Sentence Sunday 10/03/2010

Here is an excerpt from a short story I wrote that was published several years ago.

Slowly, with such nervousness and dread, I turned to look.  In the doorway, my uncle’s compadre Rafael leaned against the wooden frame with his arms crossed.  Blood rushed to my face and I tried to turn away, but I could not.  I scanned the configuration of his entire body and there wasn’t a single flaw.  His hair was black and the color of his skin bordered along the lines of mocha.  His lips were full and I knew that if they ever grazed along the surface of my skin, I would lose all sense of space and time.

Six Sentence Sundays

09/26/2010

This piece is from my novel that I recently submitted to an agent.

As people walked past me, I drowned out the sounds of the passing cars and the shouts from my friends.  The background faded into a blur as the wind blew behind me as if to push me to my destination faster than I had anticipated.  A gentle hint of Old Spice lingered under my nose, and I walked right through the comforting odor that reminded me of my brother.  The smell intensified and the remnants of my brother’s spray-painted signature remained on the wall of the bakery.  A heavy pang tore at my heart when the line of blue, the rival gang’s color, was painted straight across his name. I bit down the anger and rushed to school.
